Monkey Spot Scavenger Hunts Privacy Policy

 Monkey Bar Collective (also, “we,” “our,” or “us”) take the responsibility of protecting your privacy very seriously. For this reason, we have created this Privacy Policy to help you understand how we collect, use and protect the information we obtain when you use our MonkeySpot™ mobile application and its related service (collectively, “MonkeySpot,” “app,” or “MonkeySpot app”)).  This Privacy Policy governs the MonkeySpot app and not any other services, products or websites that we provide.  By using MonkeySpot, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy (“You” or “User”).

By using MonkeySpot, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. This policy may change from time to time so we recommend that you check it regularly. Your continued use of MonkeySpot after the posting of any changes will constitute your acceptance of those changes.  See below for more information about updates to this Privacy Policy.

As parents ourselves, Monkey Bar Collective is committed to protecting the privacy of kids that use MonkeySpot.  Earning and maintaining the trust of parents is a top priority.  With that in mind, MonkeySpot has:

• No links to outside websites or social media
• No location tracking
• No advertising

 Information Collected

 Personally Identifiable Information: Monkey Bar Collective does not request or automatically collect any personally identifiable information. Be advised that personally identifiable information can be entered in the MonkeySpot app in the form of Users’ photographs of themselves, (this includes kids), and in the text entry field if they include information like their name, address, email address, etc. This information is not stored by Monkey Bar Collective; it is stored locally on your device.

 If you are an adult who wishes to make an in-app purchase, you must do so through the app store, which is owned and control by a third party. We do not receive any information that is submitted to the app store to make an in-app purchase, including personally identifiable information and financial information. 

Usage Data: We automatically collect event data from your device about your use of the MonkeySpot app. Monkey Bar Collective uses Parse, a third-party service, to help us collect, store and analyze this information. This anonymous information, which the MonkeySpot apps sends to Parse, resides on Parse’s servers and remains accessible to us.

 Use of Information Collected

 Monkey Bar Collective may use collected information for the following purposes:

 To provide services:  We use the information to provide the MonkeySpot service to you.

 To make improvements: We may use the usage information that we collect to improve app performance, usability, features, the scavenger hunt experience, and our services.

 Information Sharing and Disclosure

 As stated above, we do not collect personally identifiable information. We may share anonymous non-personally identifiable information regarding MonkeySpot users and usage with our business partners, trusted affiliates, and advertisers.

 In-App Purchases

 Our intention is that in-app purchases are done by grown-ups, and an age gate separates kids from this feature to deter them from entering. By making a purchase, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and/or that you are legally authorized to accept the terms in this Privacy Policy and make a purchase.

 Do Not Track

 We do not track our Users over time and across third party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Some third party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when you access them in order to tailor what they present to you. If you are visiting such sites, your browser may allow you to set the DNT signal so that third parties know you do not want to be tracked. 

Notice to International Users

Our Site is hosted in the United States and the data we collect is stored in the United States.  Users accessing our website from the European Union (“EU”) or elsewhere should be aware that they are transferring personal data to the United States, which does not have the same personal data protection laws as the EU and other regions. That being said, we take steps to ensure that Users’ privacy is protected as described in this policy. By using our app, Users consent to have their personal information used and transferred to the United States as set forth in this policy.

Applicable Law and Choice of Forum

This Policy is governed by the laws of the state of New York. All matters arising out of these Terms shall be resolved exclusively by the state and federal courts located in New York, New York. For this purpose, each party consents to personal jurisdiction in such state or federal court and waives any right to dismiss or transfer such action or proceeding because of the inconvenience of the forum. Nothing in this section shall prevent enforcement in another forum of any judgment obtained in a court identified in this paragraph.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Monkey Bar Collective retains the right to update this Policy in its discretion at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to the Policy. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Acceptance of these Terms

By using MonkeySpot, you signify your acceptance of this Policy. If you do not agree to the Policy, do not use our site, app, or services. Your continued use of our site, app, or services following modification of the Privacy Policy constitutes agreement to the modified Policy.

About Monkey Spot

Monkey Spot Scavenger Hunts are designed to engage kids more fully with their surroundings. You can use these scavenger hunts to make the most of time spent waiting, to look with fresh eyes at your everyday stomping grounds, or learn more about a particular locations.

Our scavenger hunt encourages kids to explore, perform, and have conversations with people. You may want to talk with your child about when it’s okay to take pictures of other people and when to talk to strangers. And you can get in on the fun, too. Talk about different ways to solve clues.
